Stanley Cup 2013: Blackhawks need better adjustments in Game 4

“I know it’s ugly sometimes out there,” said Chicago’s Patrick Sharp. “People can look from the outside and say that the series is lopsided, but we’re in Game 4 and we’re in great shape and that’s our focus. Five-Star Fueling Fundamentals by Jeff Compton

For Minor Hockey Players

1. Frequency:

  • Kids should be eating (meal or snack) 7-8 times/day
  • i.e. multi game tournament days:
    • Breakfast + Post-Game Snack + Lunch + Pre-Game Snack + Post-Game Snack + Dinner + Snack (at least 45′ before bed)

2. Fuel Source:

    • Each fueling should contain roughly a 50:50 mix of Protein AND Carbs
    • Gatorade should NEVER be consumed as packaged or without protein (should be diluted by 50-75% and combined with protein)
